YOUR GO-TO CLINIC FOR DENTAL CROWNS AND BRIDGES IN NEPEAN
Crowns and bridges are a part of restorative dentistry. They look and act like your natural teeth and help restore your smile and comfort in routine activities. If you are missing a tooth or have chipped, broken, or discoloured teeth, U Dental provides dental crowns and bridges in Nepean to address such dental concerns.
We are your experienced and trusted crown and bridge specialists. Our dentist can use two dental crowns to hold an artificial tooth called “a bridge” in-between, and the crowns are placed on either side of the missing tooth while the bridge replaces it. Dental crowns are also used to repair and restore cracked or broken teeth, support a tooth that has received heavy filling, or make cosmetic improvements. Call us for a consultation today.
WHAT ARE CROWNS?
Also called a cap, a crown is a protective dental restoration that attaches to a tooth’s entire surface, restoring it to its natural shape and size. When a tooth is weakened due to large fillings, fractured fillings, any kind of damage, or after root canal treatment of an infected or decaying tooth, a crown works as a protective covering and strengthens the tooth structure.
At U Dental, we usually provide crowns in two appointments, wherein 3D digital scans are obtained in the first one to fabricate your custom crown. We offer all-ceramic crowns that are made to match the exact shape, size, and colour of your teeth, giving you an even and natural-looking smile.
WHAT ARE BRIDGES?
A dental bridge is a permanent artificial tooth that replaces missing teeth. Bridges come in many forms. However, the traditional ones are made up of ceramic material fused to metal. Our dentist highly recommends bridges as they are designed to resemble your natural teeth in both function and form.
An all-ceramic bridge is accompanied by two crowns attached to either side. The crowns are placed securely over two anchoring or abutment teeth, and the bridge fills the gap created by one or multiple missing teeth. This prevents the other existing teeth from shifting toward the gap, and your ability to chew and talk is restored. Dental bridges are highly durable and last many years, but they still suffer normal wear and need to be re-cemented or replaced.
Getting dental bridges can take several visits to our dental clinic. We take accurate impressions of your teeth and gums to create perfectly fitting crowns and bridges. As your replacement teeth are being prepared, our dentist can provide temporary bridges to wear until you receive your permanent ones.
